Mr Taran Tatla

Founder / Trustee

Taran is a Consultant ENT-Head & Neck Surgeon at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust and the President Elect of ENTUK. He specialises in managing complex cases for patients with critical conditions, such as brain injuries and cancers, which affect core functions like breathing, swallowing, voice, and sensory processing. His extensive experience includes leadership roles as the ENT clinical research lead for NW London, ENT higher surgical training program director for North London, and NIHR national research champion for industry. Taran is committed to advancing patient care through collaborative, multidisciplinary approaches.

With a PhD in surgical technology, Taran has pioneered research and education programs that unite clinical and engineering expertise across the UK, EU, and globally. He has developed innovative postgraduate courses centred on multidisciplinary teamwork and has led several groundbreaking research initiatives in disease screening technologies. Taran has published extensively, including as the lead editor of his own textbook on Head and Neck Imaging, and continues to drive the clinical translation of optical imaging tools that support early diagnosis and improved patient outcomes.

Dr Ishika Kamat

Co-director / Trustee

Ishika is a recent medical graduate from the University of Nottingham, with a background in both clinical and non-clinical roles. As a Co-director at Cerebr8, she has successfully led the strategic planning and execution of ENT training programs.

With experience in content direction and health innovation, Ishika is dedicated to leveraging digital health solutions to address healthcare disparities in low-resource settings. Her passion for global health and skill in driving collaborative projects align with Cerebr8’s mission to empower healthcare professionals globally through knowledge-sharing and digital innovation​

Mr Sam Majumdar

Co-director / Trustee

Sam is a founding member of the British Laryngology Association and a highly experienced Consultant Surgeon at Ninewells Hospital NHS Scotland. As a specialist in Laryngology, he leads the Voice, Swallowing Disorders, and Difficult Airway Service at this centre. Sam is also an honorary Reader at the University of Dundee Medical School, where he contributes to innovative medical education and surgical training.

With over three decades of dedication to teaching and advancing healthcare, Sam has developed numerous surgical simulation courses and served as a Course Director at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He actively collaborates on a national and international scale, contributing to medical literature, co-authoring key textbooks, and reviewing for scientific journals. Sam’s commitment to quality improvement and patient safety is further reflected in his role as a Fellow of the Scottish Patient Safety Programme.

Cindy Morrison

Co-director / Trustee

Cindy has over 20 years of experience as a paediatric nurse and holds a PhD in Social and Organisational Psychology, completed in 2019. Her professional journey has expanded into education and social work, where she is passionate about improving collaboration across healthcare and social care sectors to enhance service delivery and outcomes for service users. Cindy is dedicated to practical, creative solutions for improving lives through knowledge exchange and shared learning. Her holistic perspective, shaped by her strong faith, professional and personal experiences, drives her commitment to advancing collaboration and co-production within professional communities, a core value at Cerebr8.
